My Boston Red Socks!

This is an old pic from when we were in Boston in late August, but I just got it off Meghann's camera...when I took it my heart definitely melted into a pile of mush!

More of these pics are located in our Boston & Pensacola web album so check it out and prepare to tear up a little bit when you see Whitaker and daddy in matching Red Socks baseball caps...you can't even imagine how much I paid the local vendor for Whitaker's cap...but it was sooo worth it!

Crys

Carrotts anyone??

Whitaker started his first pureed baby food tonight...we started him with veggies because that's what all the baby books tell you to do...like I have a clue!

So anyways...carrotts tonight...I think he liked them but most of it was played with...but that's okay...it was sooooo cute!

Enjoy the pic and check out our web albums to see more random pics we've taken over the past 2 weeks!

Love you all dearly

Its a great feeling...

saw this in a cvs the other day and not only did it make me laugh it made me think. it doesnt happen often but i had the thought that somtimes in our world we have these little nagging things that we cant get rid of and we'll look to all sorts of things to FREE us of them, but a lot of times those quick fixes end up getting us less free.

you know there is only one thing that can really bring true freedom.... read 2 corinthians 3:16-18 out of the message if u get a chance. it pretty much sums it up with this thought. "and when god is personally present, a living spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. we are free of it."

so maybe one day we can take your picture with a cheesy smile and label your box with __(fill in blank)__FREE!!!!

its a great train, so why dont we get off of whichever one we're riding and hop on board!

love you.

Splish Splash I was Taking a ...

Does it get any cuter than that? I had just enough time to grab the phone and take a picture while Whitaker was holding on tight to the tub! He probably would have played in there all day if I had let him. Now you're wondering, "Well, why didn't you let him then?"

He had to get out and get dressed b/c he is leaving this morning with Pete and Nona heading for Pensacola, FL. We are going on family vacation next week and Whitaker is heading up today with the gparents. Crys and I will be leaving tomorrow after church and meeting up with them.

So, hopefully will have some good pics to post this week. Miss ya'll and have a great week without us! Late.

Love Extravagantly

We don't see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward the consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

I Corinithians 13:12-13 THE MESSAGE

We have three things to do while we're on this Earth. I love God. He makes things so simple. How, then, do we mess such simple things up? He gives us three simple tasks: trust steadily, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.

I don't know about you but I want to make sure that if I only have three things to do I want to do them right! Sadly, though my trust is at times unstable, my hope crooked and my love at its best pretty thrifty...only giving it to those who love me back!

My challenge today: accomplish these simple three tasks. Everything else is just petty. Who is that person whom you just have a hard time trusting? Hoping in? Loving? That's probably the place to start.

First LSU Game of My Life

Thursday was a very special day! First, it marked the one year anniversary since we've been knowing of our first born son! One year ago Thursday, I officially found out that I was pregnant at my doctor's office. I had taken an at home pregnancy test the night before at like midnight and when two tests both came back positive I rushed to the doctor's office the next morning and took a blood test! They called me with the very positive results around 12pm noon. That day was also Kaycee's 23rd birthday. She and I began the day with a very brisk walk and then breakfast at Waffle House after morning prayer at HPC. The news bursted inside of me and I told Kaycee the "secret" news over breakfast! I couldn't hold it in! She was the first one besides me to know I was going to be a mom...anyways, that day went by like a blur...I couldn't wait to tell Tyler but I wanted to do more than just "tell" him. So as soon as the doctor called I rushed to the LSU store and then to Hallmark so that I could tell him he was going to be a daddy in the perfect way. I grabbed baby LSU booties and a card and then put a big purple bow on them! I waited until dinner. For dinner, we went to Bone Fish Girll to celebrate Kaycee's birthday. My heart pounded all through dinner! I couldn't wait...finally the check came. As everyone funneled out of the restaurant I stalled pretending to be unable to find my purse. There was absolutely no one left in the restaurant except for me and Tyler...perfect setting! I put the booties down on the table, and gave him the card. I watched him read the card that said, "surprise...we're expecting!" completely unaware of what was about to hit him. I just had the biggest grin on my face as tears filled my eyes...he looked up and said, "wait what?" I nodded and said "we're going to have a baby!" and rushed him with a giant bear hug...that's when we both started crying, kissing and hugging right there in BoneFish Grill! Happy Birthday Kaycee!

Okay fastforward 12 months...Kaycee decided she wanted to go to BoneFish again. Not only was Thursday the anniversary of finding out we were going to be parents and Kaycee's birthday but August 30th happened to be the first LSU game of the 2007 season. LSU vs Mississippi State at Mississippi State. LSU killed them 45 to 0 so great start! We were just lucky that the baby booties I bought a year ago still fit Whitaker...and barely! He wore them with his LSU onsie Aunt Meg got him for my baby shower! It was a fun night and Whitaker, as you can tell from the pic was loving it too! He and daddy watched the game together...I had to rush him into the bedroom where Tyler was so Tyler could hold him during the kick off...we ate a slammin dinner, and we celebrated yet another great year of our favorite cousin's life...no offense to any of our other fantastic cousins...we love you all!

So long story to say...enjoy the cutest picture of our cutest son ever!
